Advertising bans The Schaffhausen cantonal parliament has rejected a motion that would have banned poster advertising for cigarettes on public property. The government did not recommend the motion either and is seeking a national solution. However, if this does not come about, the cantonal government is not averse to a cantonal ban coordinated with other cantons, promised cantonal councillor Herbert Bühl. In any case, the government intends to maintain the existing ban on tobacco advertising on billboards managed by the canton.
