Partnerships with top chefs and Swiss institutions

Together with its customers, Confiserie Sprüngli would like to celebrate its anniversary year with special highlights. To this end, the traditional company is working for the first time with special friends of the company, including top national and international chefs as well as Swiss institutions of craftsmanship - all united in excellence, craftsmanship and their love of the product. The partnerships are complemented by anniversary creations that bring the history of Sprüngli, its craftsmanship and innovative strength to life with surprising moments of indulgence.

"190 years of Sprüngli are the result of cross-generational commitment, entrepreneurial courage and the highest level of craftsmanship - always committed to something special. We are celebrating this anniversary as a family business - with joy, pride and the passion to carry our heritage into the future," says Tomas Prenosil, CEO of Confiserie Sprüngli.

African flavors meet Zurich confectionery art

To kick off the anniversary year, Sprüngli is launching a limited-edition praline inspired by the flavors of Africa together with the Ghanaian chocolate manufacturer Midunu. It is the first collaboration of its kind and reflects the innovative strength and creativity of the Swiss skin chocolatier. Midunu was founded by chocolatier Selassie Atadika, who is internationally renowned as a pioneer of New African Cuisine and creatively reinterprets African cuisine.

The manufactory is located near the Ghanaian region of Suhum, where the organically grown cocoa beans for Sprüngli's Grand Cru chocolate Suhum, Cacao 65%, also come from. The exquisite pralines combine the highest art of confectionery with African flavors and are made by hand in Sprüngli's factory in Dietikon.

The collaboration is characterized by shared values: a deep appreciation for origin, craftsmanship and quality as well as a love of detail and the constant pursuit of excellence. Each of the four creations tells its own story and brings characteristic African ingredients and spices into a finely tuned balance with fine Sprüngli chocolate.

Four exclusive praline creations

The West African version of basil with its fresh notes flavors silky cream caramel with white chocolate. The praline is coated in fine Grand Cru Suhum chocolate, which complements the tamed bitters and subtle malt aromas.

The finest praline with a fusion of lemongrass and ginger invigorates a silky white chocolate ganache in a refreshing way. The delicate coating of fine Grand Cru Suhum chocolate with its soothing notes ensures a perfect balance.

A blend of ashanti pepper and grains of paradise refines the velvety Grand Cru Suhum ganache with strong, warm aromas, passion fruit and cocoa bean crunch. The coating of fine Grand Cru Suhum chocolate complements tamed bitters and fine malt aromas.

Hibiscus petals from Nigeria refine a creamy white chocolate ganache and create a floral and refreshing aroma. The delicate coating of fine Grand Cru Suhum chocolate provides a balance of invigorating and soothing notes.

Culinary highlight on Paradeplatz

As a highlight of the collaboration, Selassie Atadika will create an exclusive three-course menu at Sprüngli's renowned Café & Restaurant on Paradeplatz Zurich on February 26, 2026. Inspired by the diverse flavors of Africa, she will bring the continent's culinary heritage to Zurich and turn the anniversary celebrations into a gastronomic experience.

"Sprüngli x Midunu" will be available from February 17 in all Sprüngli stores and online at a price of 39.90 francs.
