Sponsorship Awards for Würth, Mammut and UBS
Almost 100 members of the Executive Board, marketing and sponsorship managers responded to the call of the "Swiss Sponsorship Think Tank" to select the best sponsorships of 2013. Würth, Mammut and UBS were honored.
13 projects were nominated in advance by a jury for the final event at the Sonnenberg Convention Center in Zurich. The jury, consisting among others of the CEOs of MCI Group, Corum, Bongénie-Grieder, the President of IMD Business School as well as communication and marketing experts, was chaired by Patrick Cotting, CEO of CCI Cotting Consulting. The President of the Swiss Sponsorship Think Tank & CEO of the Sponsorize agency, Sebastian Chiappero, and the Jury President pointed out right at the beginning of the Awards ceremony that the Swiss Sponsorship Awards wanted to honor the best sponsorships of the year, and not those who submitted a project. "All nominees are therefore already winners. Because the jury looked at countless sponsorships, and nominated those that stood out for their uniqueness and innovation."

A hybrid program
Following the vision of the "Swiss Sponsorship Think Tank " to encourage decision makers in companies and institutions to professionalize the use of the sponsorship instrument, an in-depth seminar on "Sponsorship in the context of the digital revolution" was offered in the afternoon. Representatives from CCI, Swisscom and IBM presented an overview of the latest trends, approaches and tools. The round of talks with Fifa managers revolved around the questions of how Fifa has managed to maximize its revenue by means of sponsorship and what its position is on possible reputational damage for Fifa, for the country of Brazil and for sponsors in view of riots in Brazil.

The 13 nominations were presented by members of the jury, complemented by statements from the nominated companies and institutions represented in the auditorium. After the presentation of the awards by the president of IMD and the CEOs of MCI Group, Bongénie-Grieder and CCI Cotting Consulting, the marketing and sponsorship heads of Swisscom, Raiffeisen, Swiss Indoors and UEFA spoke about the influence of compliance issues on sponsorship offers and ways of continuing to invite decision-makers to sports and cultural events. They also explored the question of whether sponsorship will develop more in the direction of an ownership or CSV approach, and whether profitability considerations could gain the upper hand as a result.
The 13 nominations:
Raiffeisen - Raiffeisen Superleague // Migros - I'm Fit // Mammut - Peak Project // Groupe Mutuel - We do something for your health // La Mobilière - Fête Fédérale de Lutte 2013 // Longines - FEI - Global Champions Tour // UBS - Exposition Qin // Postfinance - Das Zelt // Baloise Assurances - Baloise Session // Hublot - Depeche Mode - Charity: Water // Rolex - Mentors et Protégés // Cardinal - Original Dzodzet // Würth - Special Olympics
The "Swiss Sponsorship Think Tank" concluded by saying that the third edition of the Swiss Sponsorship Awards would again be held in Lausanne at the beginning of 2015, before returning to Zurich in 2016.
