Spina's Civil Voices makes noise for Ocean Care
Marine life is exposed to dangerous levels of noise. Spinas Civil Voices raises awareness about Ocean Care and the stressed fish, turtles, and marine mammals.
Anyone who thinks it's nice and quiet in the Pacific Ocean is mistaken. In the Pacific Ocean, as in all other oceans, there is almost unimaginable underwater noise, according to a press release. Military sonars, huge ship propellers and, above all, the search for raw materials make life and survival difficult for marine life. The extreme noise is responsible for the stranding of whales, the collapse of shoals of fish and the escape of sea turtles.
The Swiss organization, founded in 1989 Ocean Care does not want to continue to quietly accept this. For years now, she has been campaigning for the protection of marine mammals through campaigns, petitions, research projects and political actions - not least as UN Special Advisor on Marine Issues. As part of the global Silent Oceans campaign (Silentoceans.org), it has now joined forces with Spina's Civil Voices to develop a print and Internet campaign that will be used for the first time these days.
