SoZ in revision

On November 3, the SonntagsZeitung (SoZ), which was last renovated in 1999, will be published with a new headline, and the gentle redesign will be accompanied by a new campaign. "The paper is to become a little more elite," says Editor-in-Chief Andreas Durisch. The "Themen-Bund" section will therefore be renamed "Fokus". Durisch admits that he is also moving over to NZZ am Sonntag, but notes that SoZ has so far remained stable in terms of subscriptions, has achieved a market share of 40% in the advertising market and, although it lost some market share in retail sales in the spring, has regained it in recent months. And Durisch remains confident, as the NZZ am Sonntag's free subscription phase expires at the end of the year (mk).
