How Migros and its customers support Swiss cultural associations
Migros' major sponsorship campaign, "Support Culture", is entering its second round. Customers can once again support cultural associations in Switzerland with their purchases.
To generate even more support for the participating cultural associations this year, Migros is teaming up with established, professional cultural institutions in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. "Support Culture" will run until 22 April 2024. Whether it's a plucked string orchestra, children's and youth theater or a festival organization, the Swiss cultural landscape and its associations are diverse and an important part of society. Migros is supporting cultural associations in Switzerland for the second time since 2023 and is providing funding of CHF 6 million. Migros customers have been able to support cultural associations since February 6.
This year, certain cultural associations have a special opportunity to present their cultural work to a larger audience on the stage of a renowned cultural institution. For example, at the Fondation Beyeler in Basel or at the Fumetto comic festival in Lucerne.
How it works
Since February 6, 2024, customers of Migros supermarkets and Migros Online have received a club voucher for every CHF 20 they spend. They can allocate this to a participating cultural association on the "Support Culture" website. In addition, favorite associations can also be supported with a direct donation via Support Culture. The amount collected is used by the respective cultural association to fulfill a specific wish that it has defined in advance. For example, clubs participating in the first support campaign were able to purchase new instruments, organize an anniversary event or replace their old traditional costumes.
5,600 associations took part in the first edition of the "Support Culture" funding campaign last year. They received CHF 6 million from the Migros funding pot and over CHF 194,000 in direct donations. This year, almost 6000 associations are already taking part. However, despite the launch, cultural associations in Switzerland can still apply for "Support Culture" log in.
