SFLB: Informed about organ donation for the FOPH
On Monday, the FOPH launched its public information campaign on the transplantation and donation of organs, tissues, and cells. The slogan of the campaign, created by Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett, is: «Everyone has the right to express their wishes.».
This year's campaign by the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH focuses on providing new and less well-known information. Even those who are against donation should fill out a donation card and inform their relatives of their wishes. If you keep your opinion to yourself, your relatives will be asked at your deathbed what should happen to the organs. This is still too little known among the population, according to the agency's press release.
The new campaign attempts to close this knowledge gap in the population: it allows people who are in favor of organ donation, but also those who are against it, to have their say. Each side presents its arguments and personal motives. The FOPH agrees with both sides - because they do not keep their opinions to themselves, but express them. Hence the campaign slogan: "Everyone is right: they express their will."
The various votes can be seen and heard on numerous advertising channels. At the center is a series of TV commercials made by Swiss director Alain Gsponer, who lives in Germany. The different opinions are also expressed in online banners and brochures (PDF) for more statements of intent on organ donation.
On the microsite Transplantinfo.ch anyone can also find out more about donating organs, tissue and cells. And then express their wishes. For this purpose, a donation card can be filled out online and printed out, and the website also offers the option of recording the personal decision on video and sending it to relatives.
