Ricardolino is now called OLX

Ricardolino, the platform for free online classified ads, is now called OLX. With this name change, the company is clearly distinguishing itself from the offerings and operations of its sister company, Ricardo.

The aim of launching Ricardolino.ch in January 2013 was to quickly build up a broad user base through its proximity to the in-house brand Ricardo.ch. With the name change to OLX, the company now creates a clear distinction from Ricardo.ch and the corresponding offers.

The OLX brand is already managed by parent company Naspers in 190 countries in the classifieds sector. It is ideally suited for the existing platform in Switzerland, according to a company statement. In particular, it would be possible to create more clarity with regard to the different modes of operation of the two platforms, according to Oliver Schibli, CEO of OLX.

For the users of Ricardolino.ch everything remains the same except for the new name: All accounts will automatically become OLX accounts. The access data, passwords and terms and conditions remain unchanged and all offers continue to run seamlessly on OLX.

The name change has been accompanied by an advertising campaign throughout Switzerland since the end of December.
