Publix designs information campaign for addiction clinic

The Im Hasel Addiction Clinic has developed a new eight-week intensive therapy program. To raise awareness of this program among those affected and their primary care physicians, Publix has launched an information campaign for the clinic.

The campaign, initially in the canton of Aargau, includes posters, advertisements, mailings to doctors' surgeries and a separate Website. A public campaign is rather unusual for addiction clinics, the agency said in a statement on Monday. Normally, the route to an addiction clinic is via a referrer, for example the family doctor. With the new short-term therapy, the Im Hasel clinic wants to encourage those affected to contact the clinic directly without any time-consuming detours and to find out without obligation whether the eight-week intensive therapy is suitable for them or whether another treatment is appropriate.

The information campaign of the Im Hasel clinic is not an anti-drug campaign, the agency continues. Rather, it focuses on the benefits of a life free of addiction: Preserving family structures, intact relationships with life partners, maintaining employment. Addicts who are socially and professionally integrated should receive help before irreparable damage is done. In order for them to make use of this offer, the threshold for contacting the specialists must be set as low as possible. In addition, the service must be well known. It is therefore essential to present the addiction clinic's new short-term therapy to a broad public and to get the message across clearly in text and images.
