Publicis Group buys GP7 in Brazil
The Publicis Group has acquired the São Paulo-based advertising agency GP7 for an undisclosed amount. The agency's manager, Joao Fernando Vassao, will report to the CEO of Publicis Brazil, Orlando Marques.
Following the acquisition, the agency will be renamed Publicis Red Lion and networked with Publicis Worlwide as a unit of Publicis Brazil. The former GP7 was founded in 2004, Campaignlive.co.uk writes. The agency offers strategic planning, media buying and marketing services in addition to advertising, it said. Clients include CVC Tourismo, Yakult and Car System.
Brazil is expected to become the sixth-largest advertising market in the world this year, according to Campaignlive. The Publicis Group already has around 1,200 employees in Brazil alone and is present through the global networks Leo Burnett, Publicis Worldwide, Saatchi & Saatchi, Viva Ki and MSL Group.
