Promarca lobbies for open shelving

Branded goods Following the takeover of Epa and Waro by Coop, Swiss branded goods manufacturers see their sales channels under threat. Coop has a 37 percent market share, Migros has 40 percent and this concentration of power is not in the interests of consumers, believes the branded goods association Promarca. If the probability of getting onto the shelves of retailers decreases, the innovative strength of branded goods manufacturers diminishes. The association wants to campaign for a joint code of conduct for retailers and industry. Promarca has compiled a dossier at www.promarca.ch to raise public awareness of the issue. In addition to a statement, it includes interviews with Promarca Director John Peter Strebel and five heads of branded goods companies.
