Total spending grows to 8.5 billion Swiss francs, of which 1.5 billion is spent directly abroad. While online retailers active in Switzerland are able to grow by around 400 million francs or six percent, the direct import of goods, primarily via international marketplaces, is growing by 300 million francs, more than 20 percent. This means that every fifth online franc is now spent abroad, and the trend is rising.

The forecast is based on the VSV / GfK / Post distance selling monitor, which covers around 50 percent of the sales volume of Swiss retailers. The Association of the Swiss Online and Mail Order Trade (VSV) is committed to fair distance selling of goods of all kinds.
