Premiere fun week

With "People", the celebrity magazine of Schweizer Illustrierte (SI) in the Swiss window of Sat 1, and the youth program "Morph" produced by Eqal Visual Productions

With "People", the celebrity magazine of Schweizer Illustrierte (SI) in the Swiss window of Sat 1, and the youth program "Morph" produced by Eqal Visual Productions on SF DRS, two premieres were on the program last week. Reason enough for those involved to frame the whole thing with an aperitif, with Sat 1 marketer Cinecom and SI making a big splash in the Säulenhalle. The red carpet was brought out and the assembled Swiss celebrities practically shook hands, so that the advertising clients who had also been invited were almost drowned out. Nevertheless, a few stood up to the celebrity glamor. In a somewhat smaller, but no less pleasant setting, there was a drink to celebrate the launch of "Morph". Eqal Visual Productions by Lea Rindlisbacher and Christian Breitschmid was the only commissioned producer for the new SF DRS youth program.
Finally, however, the legendary Plakanda summer party was once again on the agenda - a really big party. There are advertising party visitors who look forward to the poster supplier's invitation like snow kings long in advance. After all, they come up with a few ideas every year to make sure the guests don't get bored. Fiesta Cubana con los Plakandos or "Cuba libre" was the motto this year. Christian Dür from the Visualix event agency set up a backdrop for the two Plakanda bosses Beat Roeschlin and Beat Sulzer on the rowing club grounds at Mythenquai that immediately transported you to the Caribbean. Elegant vintage cars, dancers, street hairdressers, shoeshine boys, fruit vendors, fiery rhythms, mojito and Cuba libre were combined to create a perfectly staged show. The guests were hardly able to stop being amazed, and even the weather was kind to the revelers. The big thunderstorm only arrived shortly before midnight, but then chased the guests home relatively suddenly.
On Friday, ADC and the agency Matter & Partner invited guests to the water for their events in weather that was no longer at all like that of a bathing establishment. The board and table cards for the Frauenbadi invited guests to the Captain's Dinner, with the individual tables bearing the names of ocean liners. Host Daniel Matter allowed himself the joke of putting his guests on some rather obscure ships - a brief digression into the recent history of Christian seafaring is permitted here.
The only ship on Matter's list that you can still really take a vacation on today was the Crystal Symphonie, built in 1995. The Hong Kong Express does not carry passengers, but goods - it is one of the world's largest container ships. The Gorch Fock, a barque with a square-rigged foremast and mainmast as well as a gaff-rigged mizzen with a topsail, has been cruising the world's oceans as a sail training ship in the service of the German Navy for exactly 45 years. And now it's getting really big. The Britannic, the sister ship of the Titanic, ran aground on a mine less than a year after her maiden voyage in 1916, capsized and sank in just 55 minutes. She had never carried a paying passenger in her life, but was only used as a hospital ship. In 1956, shortly after leaving New York, the Andrea Doria rammed the Swedish passenger ship Stockholm. Since then, the barge has only served as a home for fish. The Queen Elizabeth, on the other hand, capsized in 1972 after a fire in Hong Kong harbour and had to be scrapped. And finally, the former SS America, under the name American Star, ran aground off Fuerteventura in 1994 and broke in two. The ship's ruins can still be viewed there today.
Fortunately, there were no such accidents at the Matter & Partner festival and, according to reports, no one completely drowned in the Frauenbadi. Fortunately, the planks also held up a mile further down the lake, at the ADC in Badi Enge, and the sheets remained tight.
Beat Fritsch in a Cuban outfit. The beautiful straw hats were given to every guest at the Plakanda party - if they arrived early enough - as a gift; and the mojitos, which were not in short supply, were also available right at the entrance. Once again, the Plakanda party proved to be a great event. But there were other celebrations last week too. From TV premiere parties to the rainy Badifest, there was pretty much the whole range.
