NZZ editors say what they stand for
Over the weekend, the NZZ launched a campaign focusing on the central NZZ values: liberalism, orientation and leadership. Journalists from the NZZ and the NZZ am Sonntag sum up what these values mean to them.
The NZZ brand stands for high-quality journalistic offerings and services, and has done so for 235 years. As part of the NZZ umbrella brand campaign, which kicked off over the weekend, those who have always shaped the traditional house speak for it: the journalists. Renowned Swiss photographer Tom Haller has portrayed the three-man editorial team, consisting of Eric Gujer, Felix E. Müller and Anita Zielina, as well as four other editors of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and the NZZ am Sonntag. In the headlines, those portrayed succinctly formulate what NZZ journalism is all about.

The NZZ represents a civic-liberal stance and is committed to the highest quality standards. The editors of the NZZ research precisely, locate and delve, separate the essential from the unessential, and thus create orientation and knowledge gain. They make independent decisions and thus enable readers to form critical judgments. Steven Neubauer, Managing Director of the NZZ and initiator of the umbrella brand campaign: "Under increasing economic pressure, the mixing of commerce and journalism is on the rise in many places. For us, this cannot be an option. Independent journalism is the core of the NZZ and has always been our raison d'être."

The NZZ umbrella brand campaign starts with seven subjects. It runs via posters, e-boards, print and online ads, and social media. Further information and video statements by the NZZ journalists portrayed can be found at Nzz.ch/insights.
