News: Tele Ostschweiz inherits from Tele 24
The regional broadcaster Tele Ostschweiz (TVO) takes over the programs "Videogang" and "Lifestyle" from the discontinued Tele 24.
The regional station Tele Ostschweiz (TVO) is taking over the programs "Videogang" and "Lifestyle" from the discontinued Tele 24.News Tele Ostschweiz inherits from Tele 24 "Videogang," a program by teenagers for teenagers, will be broadcast every afternoon with immediate effect. The magazine "Lifestyle", which will continue to be produced and broadcast by Tele Züri, will also be shown on TVO every Friday from the beginning of 2002. It replaces the magazine "Klopfer," which will be discontinued at the end of the year.
20 Minuten waits for better times The commuter newspaper 20 Minuten, which is currently available free of charge at 60 kiosks each in Basel, Bern and Zurich, is refraining from expanding its kiosk presence for the time being. As reported by WerbeWoche at the end of September, the plan was to offer the free paper at around 1000 Kiosk AG sales outlets in German-speaking Switzerland. Publishing director Rolf Bollmann stressed that the project had only been postponed by the board of directors, not cancelled. It will probably be put on the agenda again next spring.
BaZ rotates for Coop newspaper The Basler Zeitung (BaZ) has ordered a new press line from Koenig & Bauer for the production of its daily newspaper and 29 other newspaper titles from customers and partners. It is investing more than 80 million Swiss francs in this, including an extension to the existing printing plant. The new press will be commissioned at the end of 2003 and will be able to print in four colors throughout. Coop-Zeitung had requested the latter from the BaZ printing plant.
Publimag launches new combination From the beginning of the year, Publimag will be offering the PolyTec advertising combination. It combines nine trade magazines from Swiss industry. The individual titles are: Baublatt, Chemische Rundschau, Kunststoffe/ Synthetics, Lebensmitteltechnologie, Precision, Schweizer Holzzeitung, Schweizer Maschinenmarkt, Tara, Viscom Print & Communication. The Kombi is published ten times a year with a circulation of around 99000 copies.
