New production environment

Publishing The new Adobe Bridge file browser and the improved version of Cue are the highlights of the Adobe CS2 products and Creative Suite 2 Software provider Adobe made a stop at the World Trade Center in Zurich-Oerlikon on June 8 on its Adobe Creative Suite 2 tour. The focus of this event was the new Adobe Creative Suite 2 (CS2) launched the day before. Adobe is thus launching a highly interesting, updated software package for advertising agencies, printers/prepress companies and publishers. Suites in vogue
The program collections or suites increasingly offered by software manufacturers are a clever move. In one fell swoop, buyers of the package receive several programs at the same time - but also those that may not be urgently needed. Users or companies are more willing to pay the higher price for a new suite version than for a single program or several updates.
The Creative Suite 2 presented by Adobe at the event in Oerlikon and the various individual applications are now available and come with countless new functions. To make it easier for users to decide whether to update both individual applications and CS2, the Californian software provider has added two interesting additions.
Optimize workflow, produce more securelyThe additions are Adobe Bridge and the new version of Cue. With these powerful tools, Adobe could succeed in gently revolutionizing desktop publishing.
The two tools ensure a more secure workflow, as their functionalities allow orders/projects to be better processed or exchanged by several employees or within a team. In addition, the various options offered by the Cue version also improve production reliability.
However, production security does not mean that the software team takes care of backups etc., but rather that the auxiliary tools simplify data management and access in such a way that the workflow as a whole becomes more secure and transparent. This makes it very easy to fall back on older or alternative versions.
One highlight of Adobe Bridge is more consistent access to job data: All preview images are always available - regardless of whether they are in document format (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), image format (JPEG, TIFF, etc.) or export format (PDF). Even multi-page PDF documents can be displayed within the Bridge file browser environment and can be scrolled through, zoomed etc.
If required, the platform (Mac OS X/Windows XP) even fades into the background thanks to the optional use of Adobe menus: you hardly notice which operating system the CS2 application is running on. But these are all options. If you want, you can of course do without the advantages of Bridge and Version Cue and produce as before. However, the advantages of significantly faster access to jobs and projects and their management are lost.

A completely new component within Creative Suite 2 is the Adobe Bridge file browser, which serves as a control center for productivity, image management and creativity.
