Newly appointed head of communications leaves DDPS
Colette Adam-Zaugg, the new head of communications in the Defense Department, is leaving the DDPS before the end of her probationary period. The 49-year-old will return to work as a lawyer, as the DDPS announced on Monday.
Defense Minister Ueli Maurer only appointed Adam-Zaugg as head of communications for the DDPS on 1 December 2010. She succeeded Jean-Blaise Defago, who has been Maurer's personal assistant since last summer. Defago will now temporarily take over Adam-Zaugg's role again. The new Head of Communications resigned at her own request during her probationary period, according to the DDPS press release. The lawyer and SVP cantonal councillor from Solothurn wants to work as a lawyer and notary again and reactivate her law firm in Derendingen, which was closed down in connection with her move to the DDPS. Defago did not provide any further information on Adam-Zaugg's departure when asked by the SDA news agency. She herself could not be reached on Monday afternoon.
