Monami and Swisscom talk about sharenting and pedophilia on Instagram

In an investigative report produced by Monami, Swisscom shows how Instagram is used by people with pedophilic tendencies. The report is intended to raise awareness among parents who carelessly share pictures of their children online. Experts will also discuss the topic live on TV on November 19 at an online parents' evening.

More than half of all parents in Switzerland post videos and pictures of their children online. They are often unaware that their content can also be consumed by people with paedophilic tendencies or fall into the hands of people who trade in children's content.

Swisscom presenter Soraya immersed herself in the platform for several weeks and, together with various experts, shows how large the mass of problematic content on Instagram is, how easy it is to find, how the trade works and what can be done about it.

With this report, Swisscom wants to put the phenomenon of "sharenting" on the public agenda and invites you to a digital parents' evening on the topic, which will be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m. on Blue Zoom D and on YouTube.
