Messerli Group takes over Media Rent
Effective September 9, 2015, the Messerli Group will acquire Dr. W.A. Günther Media Rent, one of the leading companies in the Swiss live communications industry.
In the course of a succession plan, Willy Günther has found a solution that is optimal in all respects for employees and customers with the sale to the Messerli Group, according to a statement. For more than 30 years, the 62-year-old has led the company in the second generation as chairman of the board of directors. Since the next Günther generation is still of primary school age, the patron sought an external succession solution that would both respect the company's tradition and offer positive development opportunities for its future. In a carefully conducted evaluation process, the ideal partner was found in Andreas Messerli (54). The Messerli Group, which he heads, comprises leading companies in emotional marketing, live communication and brand experience.

Willy Günther will remain active as a member of the Board of Directors in his group of companies operating in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Benelux with the divisions "Distribution" and "Project and Systems Business of Professional Audio and Video Technology". Therefore, his second Swiss company, Dr. W.A. Günther Audio Systems, remains unaffected by this acquisition.
