Brand poster: No sellout of traditional Swiss brands
86 percent of Switzerland's traditional brands are still Swiss-owned. This is shown in the Swiss Brand Poster, which was recently published to mark «Brand Day.».

The brand poster, which was created by the Evoq agency, shows the Swiss brand landscape. Embedded between fictitious mountains, lakes and cities, public-relevant Swiss brands are depicted and assigned to a field name. There are places such as the "Loch Nesstle", the "Uhrwald" or the "Blätterwald". Also shown is who owns a brand. So how much Switzerland is there really in today's Swiss brands?
The 3rd edition of the Swiss brand poster includes a number of new features, according to a press release issued on Monday. In addition to a fresh layout, a number of other brands have been included, including WWF, Vacheron Constantin, Clariden Leu, DJ Bobo and Shoppi Tivoli. Directories, the Swisscom telephone directory and Rittergold, the decommissioned Thurella brand, have been laid to rest in the Märkli cemetery. The University of Zurich, Mobility, Cablecom UPC, Bern Tourism, the Locarno Film Festival and Halter are all sporting new logos. In addition to new brands, a revised layout and scenic changes to the brand poster, the brand landscape of the Markenplakat.ch website has also been given a breath of fresh air. The electronic brand encyclopedia was launched at the same time as the updated brand poster. It provides extended information on all the brands contained on the brand poster. This includes, for example, who owns the brand, who advertises the brand, the brand history and advertising campaigns. A direct link also provides access to the companies' social media accounts.
According to the press release, no commercial objectives are being pursued with the brand poster and inclusion in the Swiss brand landscape is free of charge. The sponsors Blick am Abend, Isopublic, Westiform, Seetal Elco, Neidhardt + Schön and Gysin make the existence and further development of the Swiss brand poster possible.
