Lürzer's Archive: Professor Walter Lürzer deceased
On April 14, 2011, Professor Walter Lürzer—editor of Lürzer’s Archiv, honorary member of the Art Directors Club Germany and the Creative Club Austria, and member of the German Advertising Hall of Fame founded by *Wirtschaftswoche*—passed away in his hometown of Salzburg after a long and serious illness.
Walter Lürzer founded the agencies TBWA, Frankfurt and Lürzer, Conrad (which later became Lürzer, Conrad & Leo Burnett, Frankfurt) in Germany, was Group Chairman & Executive Associate Director of Lowe, Lürzer, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf and, in the course of his career as an advertising creative, created campaigns that are among the milestones of German advertising, as Lürzer's Archive reports on Friday. In 1984, Walter Lürzer founded the magazine Lürzer's Archiv, which is renowned in the international advertising industry, and headed the "Graphics and Advertising" class as a professor at the University of Applied Arts Vienna from 1990 to 2010.
