KSB designs construction wall for Hirslanden Clinic with secondary school students

KSB Krieg Schlupp Bürge was commissioned by the Hirslanden Clinic in Zurich to design the retaining wall surrounding the excavation pit for the new «Enzenbühltrakt» building.

Instead of a "gang advertisement," KSB had the idea of having the wooden wall, which is over 30 meters long and two meters high, designed by young people from a nearby schoolhouse. After contacting several schoolhouses and principals, the project was entrusted to the Hofacker schoolhouse in the Hirslanden district. Within three weeks, more than 40 students from the 2nd and 3rd secondary classes worked out proposals on the theme of "Health and the Future" with great enthusiasm. On Tuesday, July 5, 2011 the time had come. In beautiful summer weather, the young people implemented their ideas on the construction pit wall of the Hirslanden Clinic. During more than ten hours, a creative and colorful wall was created on this day, which will now beautify the view of the construction site until spring 2013.
