The contract will not be renewed at the beginning of 2017, says Helvetia's head of communications Martin Nellen to the Handelszeitung. Helvetia wants to focus on skiing. Helvetia inherited the sponsorship contract with the tennis champion after it took over the Nationale Suisse insurance company. Federer had been a brand ambassador for Nationale Suisse since 2007, appearing on posters and in advertisements. A break between Helvetia and Roger Federer had already been announced in February 2015 following the takeover of Nationale Suisse by Helvetia Group (Werbewoche.ch reported). (hae/pd)
