Corporate Publishing The HandelsZeitung (HZ) publishing group is withdrawing from corporate publishing (CP); the activities of the CP agency Yukom Medien (Schweiz) AG have been discontinued. This affects Werner Rüedi - who is moving to the HZ Group as Editor-in-Chief of Schweizer Versicherung magazine - and Andrea Cavegn, who is setting up his own business and taking over two Yukom clients.
Yukom Schweiz was a joint venture between HZ and Munich-based Yukom Medien GmbH, which was 51 percent owned by HZ majority shareholder Axel Springer Verlag. HZ publishing director Ralph Büchi explained that the closure of Yukom Switzerland had been prompted by developments in Germany. Springer decided to separate from the publishing company there at the beginning of the year. Although the exit has not yet been officially announced, Yukom Germany already presented a new partner at the beginning of the week. Hubert Burda Media is taking over Springer's shares and intends to merge its own customer magazine subsidiary Burda Com with the Munich-based company.
