Gemi November 2015: Internet continues to rise

Thanks to an extraordinary increase of 50 points, the Internet segment once again reached a new high of 892 points. This is shown by the Goldbach Index (Gemi) figures for advertising pressure in November 2015.

Of the eleven months evaluated in 2015, the Internet closed seven with record values. Together with the equally remarkable increase of 25 points for the digital out-of-home segment, this results in an increase of six points and therefore also a new high for electronic media. This was achieved while advertising pressure in the market as a whole remained unchanged.

The month of November was extremely successful for the electronic media. TV maintained its record level of 667 points with a slight increase of 2 points. After advertising pressure was below the previous year's level until August, the TV sector has seen a marked increase since September. Once again, however, the Internet surpasses everything. With an increase of an incredible 50 points, the record value of the previous month was virtually pulverized. Compared to the same month last year, the sector increased by a full 16%.

Digital out of Home increased by 25 points and reached a new annual high of 700 points. This brings the record figure of 758 points from May 2014 much closer again. As radio and teletext were also able to just maintain the previous month's level, electronic media closed at a new high of 667 points overall. An increase of over three percent has been recorded since June 2015 alone. By contrast, the overall market remained unchanged, with advertising pressure remaining at 239 points.
