Futurecom: Notepad app developed for MSD
The agency Futurecom has developed an app for the pharmaceutical company MSD that is designed to support doctors in their daily work.
After a medical examination of a patient, doctors are often faced with the challenge of how to explain a finding or diagnosis to the patient so that he or she understands the usually complicated facts inside the body. To do this, doctors often resort to medical models or practice hand-drawing on a piece of paper. It is not uncommon for patients at home to no longer remember in detail the demonstrations on the model in the practice or to be unable to decipher the doctors' notes.
On behalf of MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme), one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, Futurecom has therefore developed an iPad app that supports general practitioners and specialists in doctor-patient communication during consultations. In the "Sketchbook App," which is modeled on a notepad, prefabricated medical drawings of the ten most important organs are available, which the doctor can use as a basis for explanations to the patient. In addition to the selection of line thickness and line color for freehand drawing, editable text boxes can also be placed. With just a few strokes of the finger, a patient-specific medical sketch can be created, which can also be sent directly from the app to the patient by e-mail.
The MSD Sketchbook app is available free of charge in the App Store available.
