Pay-per-view The sex program Playgirl TV, which was only launched in the USA this summer, is already looking to expand into Europe. Switzerland is to serve as a test market for the pay-per-view channel, Playgirl boss Kelly Holland told the daily newspaper Die Welt on Monday. At the Mipcom trade fair for TV entertainment content taking place this week in Cannes, she is meeting "with a well-known Swiss-German company" for license negotiations, as she sibyllinically explained, and it is unlikely to be Teleclub, which is supplied by Premiere in this area, but either Cablecom or the Swisscom subsidiary Bluewin TV. Both infrastructure providers require content and are active buyers in Cannes. However, the competitors neither want to confirm nor deny contacts or even concrete talks with Playgirl TV. No comment was available on the question of how much "highly erotic content by women for women" (self-promotion) the Swiss TV market needs or can tolerate.
