City of Zurich Repair Bonus: Flick-it.ch has been online since July

The online repair portal «Flick-it.ch» has been live since July 10, 2026. Through the platform, Zurich residents can find certified repair shops and apply for the City of Zurich’s repair bonus of up to 100 francs per person per year—but no more than 50 percent of the repair costs per job. The Zurich-based agency Die Antwort won the pitch to handle the project’s communications and is responsible for the concept, communications, and outreach related to the repair bonus.

Currently, more than 50 repair shops are registered on the platform, with more expected to follow. Initially, repairs to electrical appliances and textiles are eligible for the bonus. The portal and the bonus are part of a three-year pilot project by Entsorgung + Recycling Zürich (ERZ), for which the Zurich City Council has approved one-time expenditures of 3.846 million Swiss francs.

The answer: involved from the early stages of the project

The agency is no newcomer to the project: It was already responsible for the «Flick-it» name and logo during an earlier phase of the project. Having won the pitch, it will now handle all communication and activation efforts. According to the press release, the goal is to firmly re-establish repair as part of everyday life for Zurich’s residents and to position local repair shops as visible points of contact.

Sustainability and the circular economy as driving forces

Repairs extend the lifespan of products, conserve resources, and reduce waste. In this way, the Repair Bonus supports the City of Zurich’s efforts to keep products in circulation for as long as possible, as well as its climate and net-zero goals. Through this pilot project, ERZ is gathering data and evaluating the program’s impact.

The campaign developed by Die Antwort will launch in September 2026.
