Double look for De Schepper
Ringier: After just nine months, Editor-in-Chief Martin Hofer is leaving SonntagsBlick effective immediately.
Ringier Editor-in-chief Martin Hofer is leaving SonntagsBlick with immediate effect after just nine months, the publisher Ringier announced. Until a successor is chosen, Blick editor-in-chief Werner De Schepper will also manage SonntagsBlick. Hofer moved from the TV news magazine "10 vor 10" to the tabloid at the beginning of the year. Ringier spokeswoman Eva Keller told Werbewoche that Hofer had succeeded in consolidating the editorial team after the turmoil caused by his predecessor Mathias Nolte. However, he had not been able to initiate the second phase of further development. Hofer told SDA that Ringier and he were not a good fit. "We have different views on leadership and strategy." According to Bernhard Weissberg, Head of Newspapers at Ringier, it is not about a change of direction at SoBli. The new editor-in-chief had to produce a newspaper that everyone would be the first to pick up on Sunday and that would still be talked about after Sunday.
