Cannes Lions: Shortlist Places for Swiss Agencies

The Cannes Lions international advertising festival has begun on the Côte d'Azur. The Swiss agencies have already secured numerous shortlist places - FCB Zurich six of them.

An auspicious start to the 2016 "Advertising Olympics": FCB Zurich, a Swiss agency, has secured six shortlist places in three main categories. Unsurprisingly, Jung von Matt/Limmat's "The Great Escape" campaign, which has already won several awards - including international ones -, Wirz's Ikea catalog literature review and Publicis' equal pay campaign for the Frauenzentrale Zürich are also on the shortlist. Advico Y&R also made the shortlist with the "Bärenschiss" campaign for Helly Hansen Workwear Center.

The perimeter bingo for HC Davos - created by FCB Zurich and Werbewoche Advertiser of the Year finalist Dennis Lück - is in the final in three subcategories at Direct Lions.

Together with the late Hellmuth Karasek, Wirz and Ikea achieved a great success. The literary review of the Ikea catalog has already won Epica- and Eurobest Gold. A lion could now join the trophy collection in Cannes.

In two categories, FCB Zurich was awarded the Campaign "Search Racism. Find Truth" Hope for a lion.

The rolling postal parcels from Jung von Matt/Limmat not only surprised passers-by, but apparently also the Cannes Lions jury: the campaign made it onto the list of finalists at the Direct Lions.

"The Great Escape": The Zurich-based agency also has a realistic chance of success with its direct advertising from the Grisons mountains, which has already been awarded ACD Gold, Eurobest Gold and "Poster of the Year", among others.

What seems absurd when it comes to products is a reality in everyday life: women earn less because they are women. Publicis visualized this inequality for the Women's Center and once again won over an award jury.

Advico can be hopeful in the Promo & Activation category: The Winter closure campaign for the Helly Hansen Workwear Center ends up on the shortlist.

The Swiss agencies in the Creative Effectiveness, Design, Product Design and Digital Craft categories have no hope of winning a Lion. (hae)
