By Heart for Annabelle: The image of the woman
Annabelle has been dealing with the diverse, multi-layered image of women for 75 years. By Heart has made precisely this broad and highly individual image the core of the magazine's new image.
The team around Creative Director Hans Siegwart has chosen a photographer who has already made a name for herself worldwide with her portraits of women. The Argentine Paola Kudacki, winner of Marie Claire's "Prix de la Mode" as "Photographer Of The Year 2010," now lives and works in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles, and could only be won over for the Annabelle shoot because she was fascinated by the concept: portraits were to be taken of strong Swiss women who go their own way and whose beauty lies precisely in their idiosyncratic, uncompromising personalities.
There is Carla Juri from Ticino, who was in the spotlight at the Berlinale just a short while ago, who was named the best Swiss actress of last year for her portrayal of Annamarie in "Dällebach Kari" and who will soon be playing the lead role in the film adaptation of "Wetlands" by Charlotte Roche. There is also Sarina Arnold, who for a long time had an international career as a Swiss top model, is still known to many Swiss people as "Buttermeitli" and with her unique charm and naturalness has no trouble finding her happiness and success today away from the catwalks and flashing lights. And finally, there is Susanne Bartsch, who, with determination and a healthy dose of extravagance, has carved out a top position for herself as a producer and entrepreneur in New York's nightlife. In the new campaign, these idiosyncratic and gripping portraits of women are representative of a magazine that draws its relevance from a subject that, with a Paola Kudacki, can be shown more attractively than ever.
