"It can't be a coincidence that I now work for Dennis Lück".

1. what does not come to your office under any circumstances?

I am a junior copywriter. Which office?

2. what are you sorry for?

That Sir John Hegarty didn't have time and you now have to make do with me.

3. what would you most like to promote?

There are many brands that make an advertiser's heart beat faster. Nike is the first one that comes to mind. But above all, I would like to advertise for a brand that dares to do something and is not completely resistant to advice.

4. which five recordings would you take with you to a desert island?

Metallica - "Kill'em all"
Metallica - "Ride the Lightning"
Metallica - "Master of Puppets"
Metallica - "... and Justice for all"

As you can see, it can't be a coincidence that I'm now working for Dennis Lück. I also know that there are only four albums involved. But believe me, after these four you don't need a fifth.

5 Which print media do you subscribe to privately?

I know some vegetarians or even vegans who will read this interview. I'll say it anyway: "Beef"!

6. who was the most fun lunch partner?

That can only be my creative buddy Ben Staudenmann. When it comes to food, he knows nothing. He simply fries two Kobe beefsteaks over lunch on a portable electric hotplate. Just like that. The whole agency can then enjoy the smell. Or not.

7. the best testimonial ever?

Sometimes it seems to me that there is only one testimonial in the whole of Switzerland. Guess who I mean. You'll never guess. Here's a hint: it's not Stan Wawrinka.

8. if you had not become an advertiser - what then?

The only profession that is even less popular with people: Banker.

9. is the opinion that you can't grow old in agencies true, or is that a prejudice?

Fortunately, at my age, this question doesn't really concern me yet, so I don't really have an answer. However, I do know that at Wirz, for example, there are two gentlemen, Hanspeter Schweizer and Thomas Kurzmeyer, who have already experienced a lot and are still creatively active. And I've learned a lot from both of them.

10. ever thought about leaving the advertising industry?

Not so far. I've only just started and actually plan to be around for at least long enough to think about the previous question.

11. what inspired you to enter the advertising industry?

Is it very embarrassing if I say "Mad Men" now? Yes? Well then ... the legendary Nike campaign: "Just do it".

Can you tell us a little secret?

It was "Mad Men" after all.

13. what are you determined to achieve?

Repeat this interview in ten years' time. Either because I'll really have something to say as an established, successful advertiser or because I'll be the oldest junior copywriter in Switzerland. Deal?

Lukas Amgwerd is a classic career changer. After completing a banking apprenticeship and studying economics, he decided to submit a copy test to Wirz at the end of 2015. 15 months later, he joined Jung von Matt as a junior copywriter with his creative partner Ben Staudenmann. In 2016, he won the ADC Young Creatives Award in the Print category and was appointed by Werbewoche as one of four young creatives on the 2017 Advertiser of the Year jury.

"13 Questions" appear both online and in the print edition of Werbewoche.

Implementation: Thomas Häusermann
