The two Aarau agencies Renzen and Braintrain merge

Braintrain and Renzen & Partner, two Aarau-based communications agencies, are merging into one. Founded in 1988, the two companies aim to combine their expertise to continue providing comprehensive advice to clients in the ever-changing world of communications—starting in 2019, under one roof and with a new name.

Braintrain is part of the German Trurnit Group and contributes the broad specialist network of the publishing and media company. Renzen is a member of the industry association Leading Swiss Agencies and is therefore one of the leading agencies in Switzerland. Together they want to expand this position. "The communications industry is changing, not least due to digitalization. Together, we are expanding our expertise and freeing up new, even greater capacities," says Gregor Meyer, Head of Agency at Braintrain, explaining the decision.

Braintrain has grown organically since it was founded in 1988 and is now the same size as the agency Renzen, which was founded in the same year, although Braintrain has more staff in graphics and Renzen in consulting. "This not only allows us to realize large customer projects to a high standard of quality, but also to deploy each employee where their strengths lie. That's a win-win situation for everyone," explains Frédéric Renzen, CEO of Renzen & Partner.

Together, the two agencies want to position themselves more broadly, combine their existing specialist knowledge and expand their expertise in the digital business in particular. The combined manpower will also be used to further optimize quality assurance. Ultimately, the customer will benefit from this and from even more competent, comprehensive advice.

The new agency will be managed by Gregor Meyer. Frédéric Renzen will become deputy CEO. For the time being, both agencies will continue to operate under their familiar names and at their existing locations. From 2019, the 25-strong team will work under one roof at the current Renzen location at Gönhardweg 48 in Aarau - and then with a new, shared name. This is currently being developed: "We will create a brand as part of an internal project. This seems important to us in order to create a common identity that combines the best of both agencies," emphasizes Gregor Meyer.
