Four times bronze at WINA
On November 11, the World Independent Advertising Awards (WINA) were presented in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. Maxomedia took home four bronze awards.
The award offers independent advertising agencies an international platform to present their work. Maxomedia won in several categories with its campaign for the Swiss online bank Swissquote. In total, there were four bronze awards and one diploma.
Campaign brought finances up to date
The Bern-based advertising agency launched its campaign for Swissquo-te's new eTrading platform. True to the motto "The platform brings finance up to date", the campaign's message was forward-looking. Instead of heroes of the past, visionaries of today pointed the way. Mark Zuckerberg and Richard Branson graced the dollar and pound notes, respectively, instead of Benjamin Franklin and Queen Elizabeth II. Elon Musk, founder of PayPal and CEO of Tesla Motors, was featured on the Swiss hundred dollar bill. Posters, ePanels, banners and advertisements were produced with the key visuals.
Maxomedia was shortlisted in five categories: Interactive, Outdoor, Print, Broadcast Print & Digital and Media. The interactive print ad particularly stood out. The June issue of the Swiss financial magazine Bilanz contained a full-page ad with a map. On it was a removable red foil. If you stuck it over your cell phone camera and scanned the ad, Mark Zuckerberg suddenly appeared. The financial world literally appeared in a new light.
Internationally compared
"Until now, independent advertising agencies have lacked an international award that allowed them to compete worldwide only with competitors who operate under the same conditions on the market. With the WINA, this gap has now been closed," says Reto Schild, Creative Director and Partner at Maxomedia, about the award. The international jury with members from all continents was presided over by Fernando Vega Olmos, founder and Chief Creative Officer of the Spanish agency Picnic.
