Swisscom honored for sustainability
For the third time in a row, Swisscom was named "Most Sustainable Company in the Telecommunication Industry 2023" by World Finance magazine.
Swisscom was appointed by the World Finance Magazine was honored with the Sustainability Awards as the "most sustainable telecom company in the world. With the annual award, the magazine recognizes companies that are actively committed to significant measures in the areas of environment, society and corporate governance, it said in a statement.
"A sustainable commitment is becoming increasingly important given the state of the planet. We were particularly impressed by the revised sustainability strategy and governance within the company, the investments in innovative climate protection solutions for customers and society, and the newly launched online content hub Swisscom Campus. Swisscom's pioneering role and far-reaching commitment to people and the environment once again convinced the international jury of experts," says Monika Wojcik, Head of Special Projects at World Finance.
High climate targets
Swisscom has set itself the goal of being completely climate-neutral across the entire value chain by 2025. Swisscom relies on renewable energies, an emission-free vehicle fleet, heat pumps, and works in a climate-friendly manner with the help of digitalization.In addition, Swisscom is also committed to the upstream and downstream stages of the value chain.
For many years, the telecommunications company has been working to ensure that the entire Swiss population can take advantage of the opportunities offered by digitization while also being aware of possible dangers, such as those posed by cyberbullying. On the newly launched online content hub "Swisscom Campus," children, young people, parents and senior citizens can find a wide range of tips and tricks for dealing with digital media.
