The winner of the evening was McDonald's Suisse with "50 Years of Big Mac": the campaign received the top award "Poster of the Year 2018". The winning poster was created by TBWA\Zürich. It visually stylizes the anniversary of the legendary double-decker burger, which has been on the grill at the fast food chain since 1968. Expert jury member Alexander Jaggy (Chief Creative Officer and co-owner of Thjnk Zurich) emphasized in his laudatory speech: "The campaign is the iconic representation of the icon. The reduction, the attention to detail - and yes - also a bit of the romance of the good old things. All of this proved assertiveness."
Over 330 poster campaigns were entered in the national poster competition for the Swiss Poster Award 2018. The expert jury, consisting of 21 renowned members from advertising, culture and design, had previously selected 34 nominated campaigns for the shortlist. At the awards ceremony, a total of 19 entries were honored in the categories Commercial National, Commercial Regional, Public Service, Culture, Out of Home Innovations and Digital Out of Home. The winners of the gold, silver and bronze awards impressed with their creative advertising messages, craftsmanship and design originality.
