Swiss Grand Prix Design 2018 for Cécile Feilchenfeldt, Felco and Rosmarie Tissi

The Federal Office of Culture honors textile designer Cécile Feilchenfeldt, the manufacturer of professional pruning shears Felco and graphic designer Rosmarie Tissi with this year's Swiss Grand Prix Design.

The award is presented on the recommendation of the Federal Design Commission. The two outstanding designers and the innovative company make a significant contribution to the reputation of Swiss design at national and international level.

Cécile Feilchenfeldt has made the big leap into the world of haute couture with her experimental designs in knitwear design. The family business Felco has stood for quality, functionality and innovation for over 70 years. Due to sustainable manufacturing, their products are characterized by high durability. Rosmarie Tissi's diverse body of work includes posters, banknotes, textbooks, typefaces, logos and entire visual identities. Her work remains a source of inspiration for designers to this day.

The award winners will be honored on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Swiss Design Awards exhibition in the presence of President Alain Berset. The exhibition, which will be held in parallel with Art Basel and Design Miami/Basel, will also feature objects by the award winners for the first time. The accompanying publication on the Swiss Grand Prix Design 2018 will also be published on this occasion.

Since 2007, the Swiss Grand Prix Design, endowed with 40,000 Swiss francs each, has highlighted the work of renowned designers that represents the quality and relevance of Swiss design practice in a national and international context.
