Livio Dainese succeeds Dennis Lück and is "Advertiser of the Year" 2018
At the third attempt, it worked: Livio Dainese, Chief Creative Officer and Co-CEO of Wirz, is "Advertiser of the Year" 2018. Half of the decision was made by the readers of Werbewoche and half by the 14-member jury of experts. Dainese came out on top against Daniel Zuberbühler from Sir Mary and Pascal Deville from Freundliche Grüsse.
Livio Dainese and his team have made a name for themselves in the past year with high-profile campaigns for Ikea, M-Budget Mobile and Die Mobiliar, among others - and recently even touched an audience of millions worldwide with the Christmas campaign for Migros' elf Finn.
Born in Brugg, Aargau, Dainese now lives in Aarau and is a father of two. Livio Dainese joined Wirz in 2014 as Executive Creative Director. Since January 1, 2016, the 45-year-old has been leading the agency in a dual role. As Chief Creative Officer, he is responsible for the creative fortunes of Wirz and as Co-CEO, he continues to develop the agency strategically together with Petra Dreyfus.
Dainese's previous professional stations include the agencies Hinderling Volkart, Jung von Matt and Publicis. His work has been recognized internationally and nationally with over 200 creative awards. Livio Dainese holds a degree in Media Arts and Sciences from the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland.
In an election that was exciting right up to the last moment and in which, for the first time, the 14-member jury of experts had a 50 percent say in addition to the Werbewoche readership, Livio Dainese prevailed over his fellow nominees Daniel Zuberbühler, Managing Partner and founder of Sir Mary, and Pascal Deville, Creative Director and Partner of Freundliche Grüsse.
Livio Dainese succeeds Dennis Lück, the CCO of Jung von Matt/Limmat. In his laudatory speech on Thursday evening, Lück praised Dainese's work: "Under your leadership, popular, clever, classic, classic, not at all classic - and above all: effective things were created. That has earned the respect of us all."
The "Advertiser of the Year" was chosen for the first time in 2018 as part of the renowned Best of Swiss Web Awards at the Samsung Hall in Zurich. Around 900 guests attended the gala evening.
