Baden Cantonal Hospital wins Swiss PR Image Award 2023
The 2023 PR-Bild Award for the best PR photo of the year in Switzerland goes to the Baden Cantonal Hospital for its photo «Cleaning Staff: The Silent Heroes.» The photo prevailed over nearly 550 entries. News Aktuell Schweiz is presenting the award for the 18th time.
"The winning images of this year's PR Image Awards are visual masterpieces and tell emotional stories that make us think," says Eljub Ramic, Managing Director of News Aktuell Switzerland. "These images reflect excellence in craftsmanship, conveying relevant messages that reach the hearts of the viewers."
This year's PR Image Award for Switzerland goes to Baden Cantonal Hospital. "With our image 'Cleaning staff: the silent heroes', we want to put the spotlight on the people who are not normally visible - but without whom a hospital would not function," explains Omar Gisler, Head of Marketing and Communication at Baden Cantonal Hospital. "It shows a remarkable view through the tube of a computer tomograph of two members of a cleaning team who are disinfecting a couch. Hygiene plays a fundamental role in a hospital. Our photographer Charly Hug has captured this in the photo in a wonderful way."
The photo of Baden Cantonal Hospital impressed the jury and the public alike and achieved the best overall rating for Switzerland. The picture also won first place in the Health & Beauty category.
This year's winner for Germany was the photo "Escape from Ukraine", submitted by Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe. The photo took first place in the NGO category.
The best PR image of the year from Austria is the photo "Reversed Roles" from Diakoniewerk. The photo also took first place in the Stories & Campaigns category.
A total of around 550 images were submitted for this year's PR Image Award. In a first step, a jury of communication and media professionals shortlisted 70 images. The specialist public of communication experts then voted on the images with almost 72,000 votes. The public vote and the votes of the expert jury jointly decided the winners. At the awards ceremony, the first three places in the seven categories Health & Beauty, Lifestyle, Mobility, NGO, Portrait, Stories & Campaigns and Tourism were awarded, as well as the winning images for Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
This year's award ceremony took place at the Heritage Restaurant Hamburg at Le Méridien in Hamburg. The evening was hosted by radio presenter and journalist Alicia Alvarez.
