Kantonsspital Aarau and Interpunkt win the Klinik Award 2017 with VR Annual Report
Aarau Cantonal Hospital (KSA) and the Interpunkt agency have won the Clinic Award in the "Best Quality and Annual Report 2017" category. They beat off competition from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The Klinik Award recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of hospital marketing and communication in German-speaking countries. The "Oscar of the hospital industry" was presented on Wednesday evening in Berlin. From the submissions, the members of the award jury nominated the three favorites for the Klinik Award 2017 in the category "Best Quality and Annual Report". The laudatory speech for the nominees in this category was held by Viktor Vavricka, Deputy Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Germany. "We did not expect to win. All the more reason for us to accept the award for our work with pride," says Fabian Koch, Managing Director at Interpunkt.
The Klinik Award has been presented for 10 years. Around 160 projects were submitted this year.
Annual report in 360° VR
Interpunkt created a hospital's first annual report with the help of virtual reality. The web and advertising agency developed a comprehensive concept for this in close collaboration with the KSA's managers. The 360° virtual reality tour explains and presents the new buildings (Head and Neurocentre) and rooms (Center for Emergency Medicine), as well as treatment paths (Oncology Center Mittelland) and medical teams (Visceral Surgery) from 2016 in an understandable way.
The viewer takes on the perspective of a patient and navigates interactively through the hospital grounds. Whether ambulance vehicle, doctor's report or operating theater, the user can virtually look over the shoulders of the various experts thanks to 360° technology. The annual report offers a mixture of moving and static elements.
The KSA has had cardboards produced for a comprehensive 360° feeling. The annual report is also available as an app for iOS and Android.
