Infographics Award for Daniel Barben and BZ Berner Zeitung
At the German Press Agency (DPA) Infographic Awards, the BZ Berner Zeitung took second place in the «News Infographics» category.

The BZ Berner Zeitung was honored for its online graphic series "Bern in Figures". The DPA Infographics Award is one of the most important prizes for infographics in the German-speaking world. The expert jury judged over 180 entries, including 80 online graphics. This year, the DPA subsidiary's industry prize is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The winners will be honored on November 9 in the newsroom of the Deutsche Presse-Agentur in Berlin.

The infographics of the BZ Berner Zeitung are among the best in Europe. 41-year-old Daniel Barben and the infographics team at BZ Berner Zeitung have repeatedly won awards for infographics. In 2012, they were the only newspaper from a German-speaking country to win the prestigious Malofiej Award for the graphic "The year 2011 in headlines". In 2013, Daniel Barben and Balz Rigendinger took second place in the German Press Agency's Infographics Award. They have also won several awards at the European Newspaper Awards, which are presented annually in Vienna.
