Hilti receives environmental rating gold

Hilti has received a Gold environmental rating from EcoVadis for the third time. The construction technology group was also recognized for its commitment to reducing its CO2 emissions.

In addition to the third Gold rating, the environmental rating agency EcoVadis also awarded Hilti the title of "Leader on Carbon Management" and recognized it as a "company with a first-class greenhouse gas management system and great ambitions for decarbonization. The basis for this outstanding rating is the construction technology group's commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In this initiative, companies worldwide commit to reducing their CO2-footprint significantly by 2030 and to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. In addition, EcoVadis certified further improvements for the Hilti Group in the core areas of environment and business ethics compared to the previous year's rating. Among other things, the high level of data transparency on the life cycle of Hilti products was highlighted.

Achieve sustainability goals

EcoVadis awards its Gold rating to the top 5 percent of more than 100,000 rated companies worldwide across all industries. "We compete to be the best sustainability partner for our customers," says Jahangir Doongaji, CEO of the Hilti Group. "This year's rating encourages us to continue driving our ambitions forward. In addition to our goal of becoming more sustainable ourselves, our differentiated product and service offering helps our customers achieve their own sustainability goals."

EcoVadis evaluates companies according to a total of 21 criteria in the four overarching topic areas of environment, working conditions and human rights, fair business ethics and sustainable procurement. The assessment criteria are based on international sustainability standards such as the principles of the UN Global Compact, the conventions of the International Labor Organization, the standard of the Global Reporting Initiative, ISO 26000 and the so-called CERES principles (Certification of Environmental Standards).
