Honor for Bietschhorn
The art project «13 Stars at the Summit» has been awarded the prize for the best PR photo of the year.
To mark the 200th anniversary of Switzerland's accession to the Swiss Confederation, thirteen mountain peaks in the canton of Valais were spectacularly illuminated and photographed. From this series, the motif "Bietschhorn" won the category "Tourism and Leisure" at the PR-Bild Award and was honored as the best PR photo of the year in Switzerland. The PR-Bild Award is presented by the SDA subsidiary News Aktuell for outstanding photography by companies and PR agencies.
Project initiator Jacques Morard of Lightandsummits accepted the award on Thursday evening in front of 300 invited guests at the International Maritime Museum Hamburg. The photo with the full title "13 stars at the summit - Bietschhorn" convinced the jury and the public alike and achieved the best overall rating in the category Tourism and Leisure. The picture was taken by Marcel Grichting.
"An impressive campaign ", said Kai Gerwig, Managing Director of News Aktuell and initiator of the coveted industry award. "The winning photo is an expression of a great project. Anyone who manages to simultaneously illuminate and photograph thirteen hard-to-reach peaks with pyrotechnics in the middle of the night, while coordinating 70 mountain guides, deserves first place in our award. I have rarely seen such a coherent and atmospheric PR campaign," says Kai Gerwig, explaining why the motif scored so well.
