Egon in the third dimension

On Thursday, the "Advertiser of the Year 2017" will be chosen in Zurich and awarded the Egon. We show how the statue was created.

Werbewoche has been presenting the "Advertiser of the Year" award since 1977. The trophy was created in 2001 by Zurich sculptor Max Grüter and christened "Egon" in reference to the Oscar. Last year, Egon was "instilled" with the Werbewoche W. In 2017, the 40th year of the award, Egon took another big step into the future: we said goodbye to cast bronze and entered the fascinating world of 3D printing.

Our statue was printed by the Zurich-based printing service provider René Faigle, my3Dworld.
