Dieter Boller, a freelance copywriter and creative director based in Zurich, has won a Silver Nail at ADC Germany. He was honored for the third episode of his AI commercial series «Clients» in the Film & Audio category. Dieter Boller’s ADC win was announced during the ADC Germany awards show on the evening of June 12, 2026, in Hamburg.

When Self-Perception and Reality Diverge

The award-winning episode is titled «The Presentation» and focuses on one of the key moments in the advertising industry: the pitch. It features a creative professional performing an expressionist dance—a metaphor for the enthusiasm with which advertising professionals try to win over their clients with their ideas. Meanwhile, the voice-over reveals what the audience is actually thinking: the clients’ inner monologues range from bewilderment and boredom to the unmasking of classic agency tactics.

The overarching series «Clients» explores the uncomfortable truths of the advertising and marketing industry. The strong response from the target audience to the release of the films was an early indication that the format had struck a chord.

Dieter Boller, ADC: «Advertising Must Tell Real Stories»

«I’m thrilled that this work has now also been recognized by the expert jury,» says Boller about winning the Nagel Award. «Even in the age of AI, it’s not just about technology—it’s about advertising telling real stories that resonate with people. And sometimes, the best thing you can do is simply point the camera at everyday life.»
