Aroma designs Vitra office
The Aroma agency designed the new office space for the furniture manufacturer Vitra.

The Swiss furniture manufacturer Vitra shares office space with Haelok Swiss Precision in Zurich The design was not only about making the offices modern and bright, but also about providing an appropriate stage for Vitra's products. Aroma was allowed to realize this project.

On around 450 square meters in the attic at Neue Hard 14 in Zurich, the two companies Vitra and Haelok Swiss Precision share their offices. After the concept and remodeling phase, they now appear invitingly bright, tidy and consistent.

A massive high-load metal shelf forms an exciting contrast to the wooden roof construction with its dominant wooden beams. The new meeting room borrows its design and dimensions from this shelf; curtains made of white fabric create the desired intimate and discreet atmosphere while still allowing a connection to the generous openness. Such curtains also form light room dividers throughout the shared office and structure the meter-high loft. With a coffee from the new, open kitchenette, one likes to retreat to one of the two galleries and let one's thoughts wander into the distance with a good overview.
280 linear meters of steel and 170 square meters of fabric were used. These two materials were deliberately chosen as a reference to Vitra and its products, which can be ideally showcased in this clear and simple materialization language. The newly created character of the attic is underlined by a lighting concept that is coordinated with the architecture. (pd)
