AR examines advertising bans

Politics The canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden is examining a ban on alcohol and tobacco advertising, and a working group set up by the health department must draw up a prevention concept by the beginning of 2004 on the basis of a postulate. It calls for a ban on alcohol and tobacco in public places and facilities, a ban on selling tobacco products to young people under the age of 16, smoke-free sports facilities and the creation of smoke-free zones in public areas.
