Even in the year of its 40th anniversary, the creative club is looking for new members. The candidates are leading creatives from the communications industry.

Creatives who would like to join the Art Directors Club must have made a substantial creative contribution to several ADC Switzerland or other recognized creative competitions over an extended period of time. Candidates must have Swiss citizenship or reside in Switzerland. The first step is to submit a written application, including a portfolio of award-winning work. In order for applications to be considered, the following documents must be received by the office at Zentralstrasse 18, 8003 Zurich, by October 24, 2016: portfolio in A4 format, a USB stick or link for video/audio formats (film, radio, digital, casefilms).

The second step is a personal audition before the admissions committee. The admissions committee primarily pays attention to the authorship of ideas. For this reason, it is essential that the submitted works have been conceived and implemented by the candidate himself or herself or at least in a team. It is irrelevant in which country the presented works have been published and by which recognized creative competition they have been awarded. Where unclear, it is recommended to submit a letter of recommendation from the creative supervisor attesting to the authorship of the ideas. In case of doubt, such confirmation may be requested by the admissions committee. It is also recommended that at least 10 award-winning works be submitted. The amount of the awards is not decisive. However, it goes without saying that the club is committed to quality and it is therefore advisable not to submit shortlists only. Work that has not yet been published or has not yet won an award will not be judged. The work submitted must have been published in the last 5 years and should show consistency.

New admissions are decided by an admission committee consisting of the board and five active members of the club. The commission will review the applications for admission on October 31, 2016 and decide which candidates will be invited for an interview on November 7, 2016. This year, the admission committee is composed as follows: Frank Bodin, Markus Gut, Philipp Skrabal, Peter Brönnimann, Martin Spillmann, Alexander Jaggy, Thomas Wildberger, Dennis Lück, Jonathan Heyer, Bruno Manser, René Sennhauser, Raul Serrat and Fernando Perez.
