Last but not least: In the wrong place at the wrong time
For just under a year, Ronaldinho served as a brand ambassador for Coca-Cola. That’s now over—and it’s all because of two cans of Pepsi.
The football star was photographed during a press conference for his new club Atlético Mineiro - with two Pepsi cans in the foreground. No wonder Coca-Cola was anything but enthusiastic about the prominent placement of the rival product in the vicinity of its testimonial. The result: Coca-Cola mercilessly gave its figurehead the boot. And this after the two advertising partners had only signed their contract in November - which, according to Wuv.de which should have run until the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and was endowed with the equivalent of 600,000 euros per year...and all because of two tin cans with the wrong label. Mean!
