Last but not least: When the vending machine spits flowers
Vending machines actually work quite simply: You put money in at the top, and a drink comes out at the bottom. But what if something completely different comes out instead of a drink?
This is what happened at a US college: Coca Cola installed a somewhat different Coke vending machine there, the so-called "Happiness Machine". And it really made the students happy: they were given more bottles than they had asked for, the drink was served in a glass with ice, or they were given pizzas, bunches of flowers, funny balloon animals and giant sandwiches. Although some would probably rather eat half a bottle of Coke instead of four and a salad instead of a pizza for the sake of their figure, the campaign already seems to have paid off for Coca-Cola: The video on YouTube has already been viewed 880,000 times. Viral marketing can be that simple.
